Looking for a Pandora replacer? Try FineTune

finetunePandora is still a great application for anyone who can use it, but lately it’s been shut down for users outside the US and people looking for alternatives, should try out FineTune. As in Pandora, you can just enter an artist name and start listening to a radio station with related music. You can also download a beatufily made desktop program to listen to the music and create your own playlists and radio channels, as well as share that information with friends and find people with similar taste to yours (and find out what they’re listening to!).

The system works great and the music you’re getting, is usually what you’re looking to hear. The buffering and availability are also high and the sound quality is good as well.

Download videos from YouTube - directly as an AVI file!

vixy.net offers a great and valuable service that enables you to download videos from YouTube - but instead of the usual FLV file you’ll get, if you were using keepvid, you can download an AVI file automatically. The converter actually works on any FLV file, and not just from YouTube, so you can try to use it as an online converter from FLV to AVI in general.

You can also convert all your older FLV files using Zamzar and you can easily watch FLV files using a great program called GOM Player, that plays much more than only FLV files, and has many interesting customization options, you’d might want to check.

Google Trends has been out for a while now, and it’s a pretty good tool to use, if you want to check searching trends of specific keywords, and watch where the buzz is heading.
